The birth of a child is a joyous event for families--including the Catholic Church family. Through the sacrament of Baptism, we become members of Christ's Church and the Body of Christ. If you would like to learn more about baptizing your child at St.Theresa Parish, email or call our Pastoral Associate, Mary Ann Thomas at:

(If you are an adult and wish to be baptized in the Catholic Church, contact Mary Ann Thomas and ask her about the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults or RCIA.)
In Holy Communion, we receive Jesus truly present -- body, blood, soul, and divinity -- in the Blessed Sacrament.
Preparation for First Holy Communion begins in grade 1 and continues through grade 2. In the first year of preparation, students are introduced to the Trinity, the life of Jesus, the Holy Spirit, prayer, God’s plan of salvation, and our part in that plan.
In grade 2, students learn about God’s mercy and love as they prepare for First Reconciliation in the winter. They learn about the Biblical roots of Holy Communion in the Passover and The Last Supper as they prepare to receive their First Communion in the spring.
Although First Communion is typically received when a student is in grade 2, if your older student has been baptized, and has not yet received First Communion, we can help! Contact Brenda Terranova, our Faith Formation Director, to discuss your specific situation.
She can be reached at: grades1-5@sttheresanreading.
Confirmation deepens our baptismal life that calls us to be missionary witnesses of Jesus Christ in our families, neighborhoods, society, and the world. We receive the message of faith in a deeper and more intensive manner with great emphasis given to the person of Jesus Christ, who asked the Father to give the Holy Spirit to the Church for building up the community in loving service.
